Research Technicians

Start date: Available now; open until filled (1-2)

Position Summary: The research technician will be responsible for day to day management of the lab and assisting in research studies pertaining to the study of chronic drug exposure on inhibitory neuronal networks.

Key Responsibilities: Maintenance of mouse and rat colonies, solution preparation, assistance in rodent behavioral studies, and some lab organization/accounting. Candidates will be encouraged to pursue opportunities outside of these tasks in the lab, including but not limited to: brain tissue processing and histology, microscopy, and management of experimental cohorts. The candidate will be working in a team-oriented environment with all other lab members, but should be able to be independent and organized.

Requirements: Applicants with a B.S. in any biological science or equivalent relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Previous research experience is preferred. Experience with rodent handling and husbandry, stereotaxic surgeries, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral quantification a bonus.
